Panoramic Imaging
A Panoramic Image (Pano) is a 2D image that captures your whole mouth, TMJ, jaw, and even the top few vertebrae in your spine!
When was your last Panoramic Image?
Your Pano is an invaluable diagnostic tool used to provide information about the nasal area, maxillary sinuses, tooth positioning, bone irregularities, disease, cysts, tumors, oral cancer, impacted teeth, TMJ disorder, and missing teeth or developing teeth.
We take this image every 3-5 years on children to closely follow dental development, growth, and eruption, then the wisdom teeth are removed, and we scale back to a 5-7 year interval for adults over the age of 18. At that time, the focus is more on TMJ concerns, pathology, and the health of your bones and teeth.
Insurance companies consider this a preventative screening, and most policies cover a Pano Image every 3-5 years.
